News for May 7, 2007

You may have noticed a lack of updates lately. I've got to inform you, unfortunately, that I'm not sure when I'll be able to update again.

The reason for this is simple: I've started working as a freelance writer again full-time, and because I need to save up quite a bit of money in the next few months in preparation for a move, I'm not going to be able to devote enough time to the comic in order to guarantee a regular Monday-Tuesday-Thursday-Friday update schedule. I'd like to think of the comic as my full-time job, but as grateful as I am that all of you are reading this, there simply aren't enough of you yet to allow me to do nothin' but comics for the forseeable future. So it's back to writing product reviews and marketing articles for a while to pay those old devil bills.

And rather than just hoping to make it every week and then having to post a new one of these disclaimers all of the time, I'd rather just come clean about this and let you decide what to do about it: stick around or don't; it's your call. There are still a lot of stories left in this comic--at least a hundred or so strips left in the current storyline alone, and some other long storylines afterward. I've got a few years of continuity planned out and that's going to open up still more avenues and still more stories, and all of that will come eventually, but it's going to take time and money, both of which are in fairly short supply at the moment, more's the pity.

So think of this as an indefinite hiatus--probably ending around August, but I don't want to make promises I can't keep. I will try to get new comics up whenever I get the opportunity (and finish inking some of the older comics), so please keep checking back whenever you have the opportunity.

To anyone who came here as a result of the Free Comic Book Day book (which looks great, by the way, and you should pick it up at your local comic store if you haven't already), I apologize that this is the first thing you're seeing upon seeking me out. There's still a ton of comics in the archive to read and enjoy, and new comics coming whenever I can get them up.
